Battery Recycling and WEEE Compliance
Our batteries are used in a wide range of E-cigarette kits. Mister Vape International is a business who sells a large number of batteries, both via wholesale and retail channels. We are super environmentally conscious and we acknowledge the impact batteries can have on the environment worldwide, especially if they are not properly disposed after use.
Lithium-ion batteries can be incredibly harmful if not disposed of in a correct way. When disposed in a landfill amidst mountains of rubbish dumped, this can cause batteries to leak metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium, which can be quickly absorbed into the soil and this can lead the toxic chemicals into the water supply. These chemicals are devastating to animals, plants or even humans.
Batteries disposed at landfills are also liable to explode, potentially setting alight the mix of materials causing toxic chemicals that can pollute the earths atmosphere. It's always better not to just throw batteries straight into the bin.
According to the UK Health and Safety Executive, it's estimated that every year there is 2 million tonnes of WEEE items are disposed by businesses and households in the UK. WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive. If you would like to read about the WEEE in more in depth, you can find this information here : Government Guidance Notes (Department for Innovation and Skills).
In order to protect the environment, yourselves and also comply with the WEEE directive, make sure you read and fully understand the following safety information on how to dispose batteries safely;
- Donate any non-damaged and working batteries to someone who will use them.
- If you have purchased batteries for a local retail store, take them back to the store and they will be able to dispose of them in the correct safe way.
- Use authorised battery collection bins that cabe found at local retail stores such as supermarkets.
- Return them back to us and we can dispose them for you.
- Please DO NOT throw them in your bin
We make sure all of our batteries comply with WEEE protocol (packaging or products). You will always find our batteries are marked with the x marked wheelie bin symbol. The symbol marks as a reminder to all businesses and individuals to make sure they separate their batteries and dispose of them in a safe and responsible way.
